Montessori Materials: Number Rods Tutorial

When I visited the Montessori school where I was hoping to enrol my children, the headteacher showed me the different materials. I found them all very interesting, especially the ones for Maths.

I’ve always done well at school, but I wasn’t keen on Maths. It really didn’t sink in. During that meeting while the headteacher was showing me the Maths materials I kep thinking “If only I had that…” or “If only they had explained to me this way…”

Candlemas (Imbolc)

Yesterday we celebrated Imbolc.

It is a French tradition to make crêpes on this day. Their round shape reminds the sun, that will soon start to shine again. People can finally make as many crêpes as they wish, without worrying about their flour stock, because the wheat is growing and will soon be harvested.
